A particularly good pair of English country chairs from the 1780 to 1830 period of a style predominantly found in the West Midlands area from Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire.
This pair is in remarkably good condition whilst still showing wear, particularly on the front stretchers, from regular use.
Made entirely from Ash and with a lovely natural patina.
They measure 3 ft (91 cm) high backs with a seat width of 19 inches (48 cm) and seat height of 18 inches (45 cm).
Perfectly sound and sturdy chairs of museum quality.
