A delightful 17th century (and later)
carved oak hall/boxed settle.
A super country antique with wonderful carved panel back and base the settle has, at some time in its long history undergone adjustment to the seat to convert from a simple fixed seat arrangement to a lift up providing a large and useful storage area to the base.
Terrific original carving dated 1658 and both worm and wobble free.
A handsome new arrival this.
