A truly wonderful genuine English Country House Regency mahogany and rosewood scroll arm sabre leg sofa of large proportions. This wonderful quality piece measures 90 inches long x 26 inches deep and 35 inches high. Fabulous original acanthus leaf casters.
Current upholstery is dated but pristine. The frame is very solid without worm or wobbles with fabulous carved show frame. Evidence of old repairs to rear leg, a couple of minor losses and an old repair to right hand side of show frame but these are to be expected on a 200 year old family used sofa.
This delightful piece was last available on the market in the 1970s when it was purchased through Christies auction house in London.
